# Brașov's autumn 2026 events line-up

> The region's biggest festival has moved to Ghimbav, the airport's own town, and returns in July 2027. Between now and then: Oktoberfest under a Munich licence, a World Athletics-labelled 10K, Halloween at Bran and a five-week Christmas market.

Rockstadt Extreme Fest, the largest festival in the Brașov region, has
moved to Ghimbav — the town the airport sits in. The 2026 edition ran
27–31 July, so it is already behind us, but the next one is dated:
**26–30 July 2027**, under the shortened name Rockstadt Fest. For
anyone flying into Brașov-Ghimbav that week, the festival site is now
closer to the terminal than the Old Town is.

That is worth knowing early. The festival moved after twelve editions
at Râșnov Fortress, and accommodation in Ghimbav and Brașov for the
last week of July will go long before the line-up is complete.

Between now and then, Brașov's own calendar is denser than the city's
size suggests. Three dates stand out.

**14–16 August** — the Brașov Jazz & Blues Festival takes over Piața
Sfântul Ioan, with Walter Trout, Janiva Magness and the Alfredo
Rodríguez Trio on the bill. It is the last of the open-air season
worth travelling for.

**3–4 October** — the Brașov Running Festival carries a World
Athletics Elite Label, which is unusual for a city this size and pulls
a genuine international field. It is one of seven races in the county
between September and mid-November.

**31 October** — Halloween at Bran Castle, the one date all autumn
that reliably sells out. It is not one event but three, sold
separately: daytime tours, an evening tour, and a party in a marquee
in the Royal Park that runs past midnight. Buy direct from the castle.

Either side of those, **Oktoberfest Brașov** runs 27 August to 6
September on Strada Turnului — the first edition held under an
official licence from the City of Munich — and the **Christmas market**
opens in Piața Sfatului on 27 November and runs into the new year.

One correction, because the search results are misleading on this
point. **Cerbul de Aur has not been held in Brașov since 2019**, and
there is no 2026 edition. Older articles about the Golden Stag still
rank well and are written as though the festival is ongoing. If it is
the reason for your trip, there is no trip to plan. The same goes for
a "Brașov International Film Festival" in autumn — the city's film
festivals are Râșnov in August and the European Film Festival in May.

Full dates, venues and organiser links for everything above are in the
[events and festivals guide](https://brasovaeroport.ro/en/travel/brasov-events-and-festivals/),
which also covers what to do about the road to Bran on 31 October.
